North American Occupational Safety and health (NAOSH) Week May 2-8

North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week takes place May 2-8, 2010.

In Nova Scotia, workplace injuries and deaths, remain a very serious concern. More than 28,000 workers suffered injury or illness. Sadly, 32 people died at work in Nova Scotia in 2009 – some for reasons directly related to their work, and others not.

These injuries and deaths are preventable. That is why we support the NAOSH Week.

The official Nova Scotia launch will be held at Pier 21 in Halifax on May 3, 2010. The launch ceremony will commence at 11:00 a.m. followed by a lunch at noon.
