PTSD Stakeholder Consultation Report (8/14/18)

Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour and Advanced Education asked the WCB to lead the consultation process supporting the development of regulations providing the benefit of presumption for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for frontline or emergency response workers.

Through this process, we engaged approximately 120 stakeholders, representing more than 60 organizations from across the province.

The input received was tremendously helpful, and the compassion and empathy for frontline and emergency response workers with PTSD was evident.

We also heard some concerns that these workers should have timely access to the best health care available in order to treat their condition.

This document - Report on a Stakeholder Conversation - summarizes the valuable stakeholder input received through the consultation process.
