MyAccount was developed jointly by the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Labour and Workforce Development's Occupational Health and Safety division (OH&S).
Through this partnership the WCB downloads and displays updated OH&S information - at the firm level - relevant to your organization including:
Inspection Reports and Compliance Orders:
MyAccount will display worksite inspection reports along with any associated compliance orders. These reports can touch on anything that is out of the norm. All issues an OHS inspector identifies are listed. Any items mentioned if not rectified immediately, can result in a Compliance Order Users can electronically request extensions or submit notices of compliance for these orders.
Deviations: Employers can apply to the Director of OH&S for authorization to deviate from a provision of the OH&S regulations at a given workplace. MyAccount will display these deviation requests for a firm along with the status or the request and the eventual outcome.
Codes of Practice: Clients may be required to establish and submit a Code of Practice to the OHS division for approval. These serve as guidelines for safe work practices. Submitted codes of practice will appear in MyAccount, along with the status of the request. For instance, a Code of Practice might tell a contractor how to properly remove asbestos from a building.
Appeals: An employer may appeal a compliance order or decision of an officer of the OH&S Division. MyAccount will display appeals for a firm and allow users to initiate appeals electronically. MyAccount will track and display the status of each appeal including the final outcome.
Prosecutions and Summary Offense Tickets: MyAccount will display tickets issued by OHS division, and will show the results of completed prosecutions.
