The Mainstay Awards
Recognizing excellence in workplace safety
Safe workplaces don’t just happen. Achieving excellence in occupational health and safety is a journey, guided by a fundamental belief that one Nova Scotian injured on the job is too many. All too often, this dedication and hard work goes unnoticed.
With 16 awards to hand out in seven categories, the Mainstay Awards set a standard in the province by recognizing those individuals, organizations and employers whose efforts have moved Nova Scotia toward a safer future.
The Mainstay Awards combine all current Workers' Compensation Board and Nova Scotia Labour and Advanced Education awards into one world-class safety awards program.
The safety awards program is structured to recognize more individuals and encourage representation from labour groups throughout the province.
But most importantly, safer workplaces mean more Nova Scotians return to home and harbour at the end of the day.
