New Deputy Chair Announced for WCB Nova Scotia (8/1/2018)

The province has appointed Robert Patzelt, Q.C., as Deputy Chair of WCB Nova Scotia’s Board of Directors for a five-year term, with a possibility of reappointment.

Mr. Patzelt is a recognized long-time business leader and volunteer who has been actively involved with organizations such as the Canadian Bar Association, Scouts Canada, the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, the Northwood Foundation, and Hope Cottage. He has been awarded both the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals for his tremendous service to Canada. 

A leading business executive, risk management expert, and corporate lawyer, Mr. Patzelt is also a sought after consultant in the areas of governance, strategic planning, and change management, and he is an award winning public speaker. From 2010 to 2013, he was co-chair of the Premier’s Council on the Economy.

Mr. Patzelt replaces Chris Power who joined the Board of Directors in 2008 as Deputy Chair and recently completed his second five-year term in the role, having also served as Acting Chair from 2009 to 2010 and again from April 2015 until January 2016.
