UPDATE: Possible disruption in postal service (10/17/18)

Latest update (October 19)

WCB Nova Scotia has resumed mail service. We’ll continue to monitor the situation with Canada Post as it evolves, and if we need to pause mail again, we will.

Update from October 17

As you may be aware, Canada Post employees gave notice that a potential labour disruption could begin the week of October 22nd. To avoid the risk of cheques or mail being lost, we will once again hold all mail as of today, October 17, 2018.

Our top priority during a postal service disruption will be ensuring workers continue to receive their benefits.

Registering for WCB Online and signing up for direct deposit are the best and most efficient ways to ensure there is no disruption in payment. Direct deposit is a fast, secure method to receive your benefits. Join the thousands of other Nova Scotians who have already signed up to receive direct deposit, ensuring their payments are never delayed.

Click here create a WCB Online account. Through WCB Online you can also communicate with us securely and monitor your claim status conveniently from your computer, tablet or smartphone.

If you are unable for some reason to sign up for direct deposit, you can make arrangements to pick up your cheque, or to have it picked up.

Employers will be encouraged to use CRAs My Payment to report payroll, view balances, and pay online.

Cheques to service providers will be held, but we would consider alternate ways of delivery if a disruption carries on.

We are committed to taking every reasonable step to minimize the impact caused by a postal service disruption, and to make doing business with us more convenient. We will continuously update this page with the latest on a potential postal disruption. You can also call us at 1-800-870-3331 if you have any questions or concerns.
