WCB Appoints Stuart MacLean as Chief Executive Officer


Following a national executive search, the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart MacLean as Chief Executive Officer.

Stuart’s 25-year career with the WCB spans a number of leadership roles across the organization, including assessments, prevention and claims management, culminating in his most recent position as VP, Service Delivery.

A true safety champion, Stuart’s inspiring leadership and enthusiasm to make Nova Scotia a safer place to work have helped reduce workplace injury and its impact on our province. 

As Chief Executive Officer, Stuart will guide the continued implementation of the WCB’s strategic plan, working together with many valued stakeholders and partners across the province.

Stuart holds a business degree from Acadia University and an Executive MBA from Saint Mary’s University. He is an active volunteer in the community and sits on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety.

Stuart lives with his wife and two sons in Halifax.
