As part of the Workplace Safety Strategy, Minister Regan introduced a bill today that is the first step in implementing changes to administrative penalties proposed last year.

The bill has two main parts:

A change in the appeal process making it a simplified process where both compliance orders and administrative penalties are appealed directly to the Labour Board. Previously, they were treated separately.
Redirecting revenues from fines and penalties from general revenue to workplace safety programming.
