Effective January 1, 2013, the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) of Nova Scotia signed a new contract with interested Chiropractors in Nova Scotia.  Though injured workers have always had direct access to chiropractors, the new contract improves alignment with the WCB’s return-to-work model.  The processes, service expectations, outcome measures and reporting requirements are now consistent with the WCB’s Tier 1 Services that focus on early functional abilities assessment of strain/sprain injuries, early and safe return-to-work with job task modification where required and functional restoration.  The WCB’s expectations of chiropractors now match the expectations of physiotherapists.
