What workers need to know about our upcoming changes (May 29/19)

UPDATE: June 6, 2 p.m. - As you know, we have been transitioning to our new claims and assessment systems. We are taking the time to get it right, and WCB Online remains unavailable.

We’re modernizing our systems and processes to provide you with better service and more online services.  The following are some of the service changes we’ll be making for workers in early June 2019.

WCB Online will be temporarily unavailable

In preparation for the launch of our new core operating systems, WCB Online will be offline from 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30 until Thursday, June 6. Learn more.

Payments scheduled for on or before June 7 will be paid in advance
As we prepare for the launch, payments scheduled to be processed on or before June 7 will instead be processed on or before May 31, meaning workers will receive their payments a little earlier than normal. Regular payment schedules will resume when our systems are back up.

Our letters are changing

Beginning in June, the letters you receive from us will be easier to read, feature an updated design, and will clearly highlight the information you need to know.

Your payment date may change slightly

People who receive monthly benefits from us will no longer need to check the payment schedule to know when to expect them.

Monthly benefits are paid on the 10th of the month. When the 10th is a weekend or holiday, direct deposit payments are processed on the previous business day, and paper cheques will be mailed on the following business day.

Your WCB claim number is important
Please ensure you bring it with you, if you need to visit any doctors or health-care providers as you recover from your injury.

In the coming months, you may notice other improvements.

By relying less on paper, we’ll be able to process information faster. This will help us get the information we need to support you sooner as you recover from your injury.
