Registration is now open for the Workplace Safety and Insurance System (WSIS) 2023 Annual Meeting. A virtual attendance option is available. 

The meeting will take place on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. in the Lakelands Room at the Halifax Tower Hotel and Conference Centre, located at 15 Lakelands Boulevard in Halifax.

Co-hosted by the Chair of the WCB's Board of Directors and the Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, the meeting will provide a system performance update and offer discussion about new opportunities for System improvements.

Representatives from WCB Nova Scotia, the Workers' Advisers Program, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration will be in attendance. 

The Workplace Safety and Insurance System includes workers, employers, the agencies—Workers’ Advisers Program (WAP), Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal (WCAT), Occupational Health and Safety Division (OHS) and the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB)—and others who provide services in the System. Its mission is to work together to help keep people healthy and safe at work, to insure against loss and to support workers’ rehabilitation.
