New WCB systems to launch this June (March 19/19)

This June, WCB Nova Scotia will replace its core operating systems, marking a major milestone in its modernization and overall business transformation

The outgoing systems are now more than 25 years old, and still require the organization to rely heavily on paper-based processes to provide service. They will be replaced with systems run by Guidewire, an industry-leading insurance software suite.

With these changes, the WCB will improve services for all of the workers, employers and service providers we do business with.

The new systems will allow us to gather and process information faster and more intuitively in order to support workers and employers through workplace injury.

As we update our systems, significant training will be required for all WCB employees. The training period is scheduled to begin on March 25. During this time, it’s possible that some calls may not be returned as quickly as we would like, and we may take longer than usual to reply to secure online messages.

As always, please stay in touch. The best way to do that is through our online channels. We will review and respond as quickly as possible, balancing both customer service and the need to ensure proper training on our new systems.

We thank you for your patience as we work towards a new and improved WCB Nova Scotia.
