Do you require special protection coverage for the proprietor or partners?
Excluding the proprietor or partners, do you have any workers?

If you hire workers in the future, you must get WCB coverage for them.

If you want special protection coverage, you must also get WCB coverage for your workers.

Who are you looking to provide WCB coverage for?

If you would like to cover the owner or director you must cover all workers. For coverage purposes, a worker is:

  • any full-time, part-time, or casual worker
  • family members of owners or directors (who work in the business)
  • (sub)contractors
  • owners, officers, and directors of an incorporated company.
Do the directors and/or officers receive T4s?
We cannot cover directors who do not receive a T4; you may be required to show confirmation of payroll for the directors. (PD7A)

You cannot insure anyone who does not receive a T4.

WCB coverage is not mandatory for businesses with 2 or fewer workers. This means you do not need to register by law. You may still register for WCB insurance for your workplace if you wish. See the benefits of WCB coverage. (new browser window will open)

Note that if you wish to have special coverage for the proprietor or partners, you are required to cover all workers as well.

Based on the information you entered, WCB coverage is mandatory by law, and you need to register.

If you're ready to register now, select "continue". If not, you can return at any time, but you will need to redo this step.
