Benefit Payment Schedule

Long-term benefits

Monthly payments for the Permanent Impairment Benefit (PIB) and Extended Earnings Replacement Benefit (EERB) are processed on the first Wednesday of each month:

October 1, 2025

November 5, 2025

December 3, 2025

January 7, 2026

February 4, 2026

March 4, 2026

NOTE: If you currently receive your payment on a different date each month than those indicated above, you will continue to get paid on that date.

Temporary Earnings Replacement Benefits (TERB)

TERB payments are issued daily Monday to Friday (during business hours; holiday schedules are planned ahead of time). Once established, TERB payments are typically issued biweekly.

Fast Payment with Direct Deposit

WCB Nova Scotia offers direct deposit as a fast, convenient and secure method of payment for regular monthly long-term benefits, temporary benefits, medical aid and travel expenses.

With direct deposit:

There is virtually no risk of cheques being held up by third party mailing delays.
Your payment is safe from being lost or stolen.
All Canadian banks and credit unions make direct deposit convenient, secure, and reliable for their customers.

Medical Aid

Medical Aid payments are issued daily.

Medical Aid Monthly

Medical Aid Monthly payments (example: attendant allowance, home care services) are issued on the 10th of the month.

Medical Aid Yearly

Medical Aid Yearly payments (example: clothing allowance) are issued once a year in June.

Pension Adjustment

Pension adjustment payments are issued by the preferred method of the recipient. This includes pension adjustments, retroactive long-term benefit payments and lump sum payments (commutations). These payments are made daily.
