Understanding the Work-Connected Recovery Program—for health care service providers.

Work-connected recovery helps people injured at work get care faster as they recover and safely return to work. The program connects health care providers across the province under one coordinated system—so workers receive consistent, high-quality care when they need it.

To treat workers with WCB claims for MSIs and psychological injuries, health care service providers must be part of WCB’s Work-Connected Recovery (WCR) network. This page covers what the program is, how to join the network, and where to get support if you are already part of it.

How service providers participate in the WCR program

Health care service providers can join the Work-Connected Recovery network at any time.

Participation in the network, including onboarding and ongoing operations, is managed by Lifemark, WCB’s program delivery partner. As a provider in the network, you will remain an independent practitioner or clinic while still meeting shared service standards, timelines and reporting.

As part of joining the network, you will receive information about:

  • Program expectations and service standards
  • Referral and intake processes
  • Documentation and reporting requirements
  • Billing, invoicing, and payment processes
  • Training and ongoing operational support

Apply to join the network. Expressing interest in the WCR network is not binding and does not commit you to participation.

Join the work-connected recovery network

The provider network includes more than 100 independent clinics, many with multiple locations, as well as individual providers, Lifemark clinics, and CBI clinics. The network continues to grow, and providers can join at any time.

Just like today, workers will be able to access treatment through self-referral, employer referral, or case-worker referral. To access a provider, workers can call a WCB Appointment Coordinator at 1-888-383-3361, contact an approved provider directly or walk into an approved clinic. No matter how a referral is made, workers will be connected to care quickly and supported throughout recovery and return to work.

Benefits of joining the network

As a provider in the WCR network, you can expect:

  • Streamlined billing and payment processes
  • A single point of contact for referrals
  • Standardized processes, procedures, and reporting
  • Central support for administration and technology
  • Compensation under a standard fee structure

Faster, more consistent care

After a workplace injury:

  • Workers will be contacted within 24 hours of a referral
  • Physical injuries will be assessed within three days
  • Concussions and psychological injuries will be assessed within five days
