Two hundred Nova Scotia small to medium-sized businesses will receive one-year free access to a made-for-Nova Scotia online safety platform
WCB Nova Scotia, together with the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration (LSI) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), is trialing a new online safety resource hub designed to help small and medium-sized businesses build stronger workplace health and safety practices.
The pilot, which provides free one-year access to 200 selected small to medium-sized businesses across Nova Scotia, is part of Safer Workplaces Together — a collaborative injury-prevention strategy focused on reducing workplace injuries and keeping Nova Scotians safe on the job.
Resource hub
The platform gives small and medium-sized businesses access to practical tools including:
- Health and safety checklists to help identify and address common workplace hazards
- Practical guides and tools to build and implement safety processes that actually stick
- Sample policies and programs aligned with Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety legal requirements
- Training materials and additional resources to help you meet your workplace health and safety obligations
- Multilingual information cards to support communication with workers, including newcomers to Canada
- A modern, easy-to-use platform to store safety materials, track checklists, and share resources directly with teams
Participating in the pilot
Selected businesses have been invited to join the pilot. Pilot participants will be asked to provide feedback through follow-up surveys, which will help determine the program's effectiveness and shape its future. At the end of the one-year trial, continued access will be available through a paid subscription.
