January Performance Update

If you watched the Olympic Games over the weekend, you know that peak performance doesn’t happen by chance – it’s built through discipline, preparation, and consistency over time. That’s as true in sport as it is in the systems that support workers and employers across Nova Scotia.

With new goals in place for 2026, we’re putting our January results up on the podium to share our progress so far:

🏅  Return to Work: Stronger recovery outcomes mean people injured at work are getting back to their lives sooner. In January, 81% of workers returned within 90 days – crossing the 80% threshold for the first time and marking a major milestone for Nova Scotia’s workforce.

🏅  Prevention: Our provincial injury rate continues its long-term decline, reflecting the collective efforts of employers, workers, and safety partners across the province.

🏅  Service Excellence:  We’re reaching out sooner, providing decisions faster, and paying benefits more quickly – helping people get clear answers and timely support.

“These results are powered by our people,” says, Marcy Dalton, Chief People Officer. “Behind every improvement is a team working together – across disciplines and with our partners – to deliver better outcomes for workers and employers.”

Our team motto? Every day matters. Sustained performance is showing up every day and continuing to improve as a team.
