Work can play a powerful role in recovery and well-being for someone injured on the job. Staying connected to work after a workplace injury helps Nova Scotians return to meaningful roles in their workplaces and communities. That’s why our focus on safe and timely work-connected recovery - for those who are eligible - is driving an update to our Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) policies. Your participation and input into policy development helps strengthen our workforce.
Vocational Rehabilitation is a structured, collaborative process that helps workers injured on the job overcome return-to-work barriers and reach employability. To ensure our VR policies operate effectively, we are proposing to replace all existing VR policies with three new policies.
