Maureen Boyd Chief Financial Officer

Maureen Boyd, Chief Financial Officer, is a Certified Public Accountant with a proven track record of excellence in financial management, reporting, internal controls and legislative compliance.

She has held key roles in financial stewardship since 1996, where she has seen the WCB improve its overall funding position by more than 50 per cent. She has served as the Director and Manager of Financial Services, and as Internal Auditor at the WCB.  

As CFO, she is responsible for all administration, facilities, investments, and financial and statistical reporting for WCB Nova Scotia and its 400 employees. She oversees an annual insurance budget of $500 million, an operating budget of $90 million, and a balance sheet of $2.1 billion.

Maureen’s work is guided by an appreciation for the impact strong financial management and sustainability has on helping the WCB in its mission to keep Nova Scotians safe and secure from workplace injury.
