Safer Workplaces Together
Introduced in fall 2025, Safer Workplaces Together is a new collaborative injury-prevention strategy to help keep more Nova Scotians safe on the job. The strategy brings together safety collaborators in Nova Scotia including WCB Nova Scotia, the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration (LSI), safety associations, employers, workers, and others, and provides a framework for building safer, stronger workplaces across Nova Scotia with clear goals.
The framework outlines three province-wide prevention goals for 2025-2026:
- Reducing strains and sprains, Nova Scotia’s most common workplace injury.
- Supporting employers in addressing psychological harm, focusing on harassment and traumatic incidents.
- Strengthening frontline leadership by equipping supervisors with the tools and confidence to build strong safety cultures.

Communities of Practice
The best safety insights often come from the people closest to the work. That's why WCB Nova Scotia and the LSI Safety Branch have partnered to provide Communities of Practice — a quarterly online forum where safety professionals and employers across Nova Scotia share what's working, tackle shared challenges, and build practical solutions together.
