WCB Sponsors 12th Annual Helping the Helpers Day for First Responders

We’re proud to sponsor the 12th annual Helping the Helpers Awareness and Education Day on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Antigonish.

 

The day brings together first responders and their families. They learn about psychological workplace injuries, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and share ways to cope. WCB's Denise MacKenzie, Manager, Psychological Injury, is one of the featured speakers.

 

In 2025, about half of WCB's 174 recorded psychological injuries involved first responders. At a time when we are focused on protecting our future by building a stronger workforce, it's crucial we ensure workers have the protections and supports they need. 

 

Partnering with the Helping the Helpers Planning Committee is one way we can work together to make workplaces safer and healthier.
