WCB upgrades financial system to serve Nova Scotians better

We are moving to a new financial system to better serve workers, employers, and suppliers.

The transition to the new system will take place in early September. Payments to workers, employers, and suppliers will not be interrupted, but there are some changes to note.

Your WCB direct deposit payment is arriving later in the day:

Your WCB payment will arrive on the same day, but about 12 hours later. For example, if your payment usually appears around midnight, it will now show up by midday.

Workers will temporarily receive long-term benefits earlier this fall

Long-term benefit payments for September and October will be processed earlier than usual.

The temporary payment schedule for these months will be processed on these dates:

  • September 1
  • October 2

Payment schedules for November onward will return to the first Wednesday of each month, as they are now.

Workers will be paid multiple medical expenses at the same time

Workers who submit multiple medical expenses on the same day will receive one payment for the total amount, rather than individual payments for each submission.

There’s a new look for cheques for workers, employers, and service providers

Our cheque stock will be replaced with a new, modern design that includes our updated logo.

Suppliers will have a simpler, easier way to work with us

We are launching a new supplier portal as part of the system transition. The portal is a self-serve tool designed to make working with us simpler and faster. Suppliers will have 24/7 access to view purchase orders, submit invoices, and get payment status updates. They can also update their own account information including banking details, mailing address, and contact details.

We look forward to implementing a system that will support the needs of Nova Scotians as we streamline and strengthen our financial processes and continue to deliver exceptional service to our customers. If you have any questions, please email FinanceForward@wcb.ns.ca.
