CNIB Workshops

Eye injury and vision loss significantly impacts Canadian families, businesses and communities. Each year in Nova Scotia an average of 1,400 work-related eye injuries are reported. 

The Department of Labour and Advanced Education, the CNIB, the Nova Scotia Community College and the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia are working together to increase awareness about prevention and reduce the rate of work-related eye injuries. Together we’re presenting a series of free eye safety workshops that include a reserved number of seats for small business owners and operators.  Workshop dates and locations are:

  • Burridge Campus, Yarmouth - February 10: 2:00-3:00
  • Annapolis Valley Campus, Middleton – February 11: 10:00-11:00Kingstec Campus, Kentville - February 11: 1:00-2:00
  • Pictou Campus, Stellarton - February 16: 11:00-12:00  
  • Dr. Carson Marion Murray Centre, Springhill - February 17: 11:00-12:00
  • Lunenburg Campus, Bridgewater – February 18: 11:00-12:00
  • Strait Area Campus, Port Hawkesbury - February 23: 10:30-11:30
  • Wagmatcook Learning Centre, Baddeck – February 23: 1:30-2:30
  • Marconi Campus, Sydney - February 24: 9:00-10:00
  • Akerley Campus, Dartmouth – March 1: 11:00-12:00
  • IT Campus, Halifax - March 2: 9:30-10:30
  • Waterfront Campus, Dartmouth - March 3: 11:30-12:30 & 12:30-1:30
