2026 Employer Assessment Rates Are Now Available in MyAccount (Aug. 29/25)

Employers can now access their 2026 assessment rate and full experience rating statement by navigating to the Forms & Letters tab on MyAccount.

Rates for WCB coverage in Nova Scotia are holding steady for 2026, at $2.65 per $100 of assessable payroll. The rate has been stable for more than two decades, as we work to ensure a financially sustainable system for the long term.

Under Nova Scotia’s rate model, industries with high claim costs pay more, and industries with low claim costs pay less. Within an industry, an employer’s experience further influences what they pay for workplace injury insurance.

Interest and Penalties Starting in September

In September, interest and penalties for employers will apply for late payment and late payroll reporting.

This is about more than collecting payment – it’s about strengthening the system for everyone. By improving compliance, we can lower employer premiums and increase worker benefits.

This is one way we’re holding ourselves and employers accountable following the direction of the 2024 Review of the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation System and our Protect More 2024-2030 Strategic Plan
