Postal workers are on strike across the country today. This will mean a disruption in service for those who still rely on paper-based service from WCB Nova Scotia.
We urge workers and employers to take advantage of our online services.
What workers need to know
Paper cheques for workers will be held for the duration of the strike and we are unable to support cheque pickup in person. The best way for workers to receive prompt payment is to sign up for direct deposit through WCB Online.
Direct deposit is a fast, secure method to receive your benefits. Join the thousands of Nova Scotians who have already moved to paperless payment. Through WCB Online, you can also communicate with us securely and monitor your claim status conveniently from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
Signing up is easy, but please contact us if you need help.
What employers need to know
Employers can avoid mail delays by joining the thousands of others who use WCB’s secure business portal, MyAccount, where you can access your statement of account, report injuries or connect with us through secure messaging. Employers can also use CRA's My Payment to report payroll and pay online.
Remittance Vouchers will not be mailed during the postal disruption. Employers who report their payroll using Remittance Vouchers are encouraged to report their payroll via MyAccount or CRA’s My Payment.
We are committed to taking every reasonable step to minimize the impact caused by a postal service disruption, and to make doing business with us more convenient.
We will update this page on the postal disruption and its impact to our operations as it evolves.
