Disability is not liability: Duncan Williams’ story

Workers who are hurt on the job today in Nova Scotia usually get back to work fast. More than 8 in 10 of them return to work within three months – a vast improvement over the past several years. It’s proof that our approach for shorter-term recovery is working.
 

There’s still work to support Nova Scotians whose lives have been more significantly impacted by injuries and have been off work longer. Nova Scotia currently lags behind the rest of the country in successful returns to work for longer-term claims. It’s a gap we’re committed to closing.
 

How? By thinking and working differently. New models, new training, and new solutions built with workers and employers as we guide Nova Scotians injured at work toward new opportunities that might have seemed impossible before.
