When someone is injured at work, timely support can make all the difference in their recovery. In February, we saw faster service from our teams and more Nova Scotians returning to work sooner.
“83% of people injured at work are returning within 90 days and 95% are being contacted within two days of their injury. These are our highest numbers to date, and proof that when we say we’re different now – we mean it,” says Andrea Sheppard, Vice President, Return to Work. “Better service and a focus on return to work leads to faster recovery and helps keep Nova Scotians connected to the jobs and communities that depend on them. We’re proud to see the hard work and dedication from our teams making a real difference.”
When we move quickly, recovery moves forward:
- When people hear from us within two days, they know they haven't been forgotten.
- When they receive their first payment within 15 days, they have financial stability.
- When they receive an entitlement decision within seven days, it provides certainty when they need it most.
- When they return to work within 90 days, they’re getting back to their lives sooner.
