The Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration (LSI) is conducting a review of Nova Scotia's Workers' Compensation Appeals System (WCAS), the first full review since 1999.
Led by independent chair Douglas Reid, the review builds on the 2024 Workers' Compensation System Review and focuses on improving fairness, accessibility and timeliness across all levels of appeal. LSI wants to hear from workers, employers, advocates and members of the public about their experiences with the WCAS and ideas for improvement.
A strong workers’ compensation system depends on hearing from the people it serves. We encourage Nova Scotians with experience in the appeals process to participate in this engagement.
