Helping the Helpers Awareness and Education Day set for Oct. 29 (Oct. 17/22)

The 8th Annual Helping the Helpers Awareness and Education Day is set to take place Saturday, Oct. 29, in Antigonish, NS.

The day-long event offers first responders, frontline workers and their families an opportunity to connect with and hear inspiring stories from those who have been impacted by post-traumatic stress disorder or other psychological injuries, and to learn from professionals who are dedicated to serving these communities.

Speakers for this year include RCMP member Cpl. Brad Savage, Randy Crouse, RN, founders John Garth and Michelle MacDonald among many others. Attendees will also hear from clinicians specializing in working with first responders and post-traumatic stress.

WCB Nova Scotia is proud to sponsor the Helping the Helpers Awareness and Education Day. As part of the event, WCB Nova Scotia’s Vice President of People and Strategy, Shelley Rowan, will offer remarks on the work that is underway to improve the prevention of and access to treatment for psychological injuries in Nova Scotia. Shelley will also share an update on the work of the First Responders Steering Committee.
