Employer Reminder: Special Protection policies up for renewal January 1 (Dec. 15/22)

It’s that time of year when policies for employers who have Special Protection coverage are due for renewal.

Special Protection policies renew automatically when we receive your payment prior to the January 1 deadline. Be sure to submit your payment in time to keep your coverage in place.

Payment amounts can be made in a lump sum or in quarterly throughout the year. When you pre-pay for your coverage for the year, your quarterly payments will be automatically withdrawn from a credit balance on your account. This is the best way to ensure your coverage remains in place, and your clearance letters will be available when you need them.

Payment options for special protection coverage include:

  • MyPayment through CRA. Visit cra-arc.gc.ca/mypayment to get started.
  • Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) through CRA (quarterly payments only)
  • Credit card by phone, 1-800-870-3331, VISA or Mastercard only
  • Cheque or money order (We are unable to accept post-dated cheques.)

Please note: Recently, we mailed renewal letters to Special Protection employers, erroneously indicating that payment could be made in-person at our Halifax office. To ensure your coverage remains in place, please use one of the methods above to submit payment.

Remember, MyAccount is WCB Nova Scotia’s online business service for employers, and allows you to easily view your statements, access clearance letters, communicate with us and much more. Visit my-account.ns.ca to log in or register.
