Episode 2 of the WorkShift podcast is available for download.
In recent years, the WCB has experienced an increase in complex workplace injuries, where the barrier to return to work is not a physical injury, but a mental health related issue. In this episode of WorkShift, you’ll hear perspectives on creating psychologically safe and healthy workplaces, and the roles we all must play.
Join WCB CEO Stuart MacLean and his guests Dr. Jackie Kinley and RCMP Corporal Deepak Prasad for an important conversation about workplace psychological safety.
Dr. Jackie (Jaqueline) Kinley is a psychiatrist, entrepreneur, resilience expert, author, and public speaker. After spending more than 20 years working in psychiatric practice and research, Dr. Kinley founded the Atlantic Institute for Resilience (AIR) where she and her team build resilience and mental fitness in individuals, teams, and organizations.
Corporal Deepak Prasad is a Unit Supervisor for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Nova Scotia who has served for over 13 years. After several years on the front-line in rural Nova Scotia, Deepak started a Divisional Wellness program in Dartmouth where he made the mental health and wellness of the people coming who came to his office for help his number one priority.
They are both passionate leaders in workplace psychological safety who are having major impacts in their respective organizations.
