WCB Nova Scotia offers workplace tools for safe reopening (June 5/20)

As cases of COVID-19 across the province slow and economic restrictions lift, more Nova Scotia workplaces are beginning to reopen, and those that continued to operate are adjusting to a broader range of activities. No matter the scenario, workplace safety is more important than ever.

WCB Nova Scotia is committed to helping employers and workers during this time, and we’ve adapted our social marketing campaign to support safe working practices across all industries.

In collaboration with the Department of Labour and Advanced Education, and in connection with Public Health, the campaign shares new tools and best practices to help workers and employers with sector-specific information for safe work during COVID-19.

With the addition of a new radio and television/video ad, the campaign reminds all Nova Scotians that reopening safely means being aware, and diligently making the COVID-19 prevention protocols part of our daily lives. Other resources available free for order and download include posterssafety videos, and digital screens.

As further support to employers during COVID-19, WCB announced last week that premium deferrals will continue until October, and employers who have front-line workers contract COVID-19 due to their work will not have the costs of those workplace injury insurance claims impact their industry rate or individual experience rating.

Across the province, reopening depends on keeping safety top of mind – and it takes all of us. For more information, we recommend visiting the Preparing to Reopen Nova Scotia website.
