The Workers' Compensation Act (the “Act”) provides the legal framework for the administration of the WCB’s prevention, return to work, assessment, and compensation programs. The regulations made under the Act provide further guidance on the application of the requirements in the Act. Workers' compensation legislation is complemented by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations which establish workplace health and safety standards and are administered by the Occupational Health and Safety Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration.
